Description
Titled “Owls of the World,” 8 delicate, colorful and carefully crafted and detailed illustrations are presented as homage to historic museum nature prints with the following captivating owls. On the top line moving to the right is a tan and cream Barred owl with brown bars on its wings and tail, a Great Grey owl, with concentric rings on its facial disc and gray feathers and furrowed brow, and a Great Horned owl with orange and brown feather tufts on top of its head and a cream colored chest on its dark brown body. Below on the second row is a small Saw-whet owl with a speckled head, piercing dark eyes and a regal looking chest of brown, orange, and white feathers. On the right is a pearl white Snowy owl with light gray accents on its feathers. On the bottom row on the left is the curious long legged Burrowing owl with multi colored polka dots on its wing and chest feathers, the red-eyed Eagle owl with gray and orange feathers and a menacing stare, followed on the right by the ghostly and beautiful Barn owl with its heart-shaped facial disc and muted gray, orange and cream colored body and wings. Each of the owls above has appeared in the nature mandala art of Tim Phelps.
