Description
4 barn owls, Tyto alba, with white heart shaped facial discs and chests, dark piercing eyes, and speckled body markings are robed in beautiful orange, white, brown and warm gray marked and striped feathers are silhouetted in brown shadows and displayed against a backdrop of 4 high peaked brown barns with oval shaped windows on a dark brown background with tan moons and stars in this night time ghost raptor owl nature mandala. The Barn Owl’s geographic distribution is widespread, being found on all continents except Antarctica. Old barns, church steeples, tree cavities, chimneys or abandoned buildings may be called “home” by successful pairs for up to 20 years. Breeding takes place in late winter or early spring with 3-6 eggs produced dependent on the availability of food sources. After an incubation period of approximately a month, fluffy downy-covered owlets emerge and are able to fly after about 10 weeks in the nest. They will become independent less than a month later.
