Description
As a play on words as a visual pun, I present “Mondrianfish” in a variety of images inspired by the rainbow colored mandarinfish, Synchiropus splendidus and the abstract painter Mondrian. This splendid little dragonet goby fish in my representations has large bulging blue eyes and swirls of rainbow-colored markings on its scaleless body as if it was nature painted with spilled and splattered paint. A single Mondrianfish patterned with tiny squares is presented on a white background with colored squares in this pop art nature image. Piet Mondrian, 1872-1944, is a noted artist of modern art and abstract art who created paintings with primary colors and black lines and geometric patterns (primarily squares) driven by thoughts of a pictorial language directing his creative thought on forces of nature, evolution, and the human experience into his compositions throughout his artistic life. For many more family friendly fanciful fish and other ocean and seashore inhabitants (including over a dozen mandarinfish images) please visit phelpsmandala.com. for splendid nature images to decorate the walls of your beach house or office. I have had a fondness for fish for the entirety of my life and write about this fascination on my blog. You will find this unique nature design on coffee mugs, tote bags, pillows, and other items in my shop. Thank you for choosing my art for your home and your family.
