Artist's Description
8 Black and red Eastern red lacewing butterflies, Cethosia cydippe, with large red ovals and tiny white spots on their wings are shown on an elaborate brightly colored stained glass art deco mosaic made up of a variety of lime green stars, kelly green rectangles and triangles, red triangles, orange obtuse rectangles, yellow triangles, small yellow, white and green polka dots, and blue borders in the background of this tropical rainforest nature mandala. This butterfly species is native to Australia and New Guinea. The red and black conspicuous coloration of its wings tells their predators to beware “I taste bad!” Artwork featured on the homepage of the FAA artist's group "Promote your Work and Get Noticed" 06/02/21. I hope that my art will be considered not only FINE ART but also as FUN ART for CHILDREN and ADULTS. Using color, texture and symmetry, I tell the...
