Description
A dark backed sliver king tarpon in lateral view, Megalops atlanticus, is presented with distant green mangroves with brown roots on a white background. I have been to the Everglades a few times fishing for tarpon. Fish chasing begins before dawn heading out into and under the cathedral branches of the mangroves in a boat in which you have to lie down to deftly navigate through them. On the other side are gleaming pockets of inviting sunlit small bays. Tarpon or silver kings will hit your bait with great vigor in the dawn's early light! They are golden bronze brown backed in these dark backwaters and light glimmering silver in the open ocean surf. This is the perfect gift as a large print for the tarpon fisherman! This image can be faithful printed up to 8 feet as a mural. This image was featured on the FAA Artist's group "Environmental Art - Specifically Ocean Conservation" home page. 04/14/21.
