6 Eastern comma butterflies, Polygonia comma, and referred to as anglewings having tortoise shell reticulated markings on their brown and orange notched wings are shown circling a yellow orange-tipped flower bloom with 12 notched petals of a hawkweed plant on a tan toned faded circle on a white background in this flower garden nature mandala. Hawkweed, with the genus name Hieracium, is a member of the Daisy family, Asteraceae, that also includes chicory and and dandelions.This flower has a head that has multiple ray petals and grows in meadows and fields. This image was featured on the home page of the FAA artist's group "Just Perfect" 04/17/21.
