Description
In this whimsical rainforest nature mandala you will see 6 Keel-billed Toucans, Ramphastos sulfuratus, with colorful long bills blue legs and feet, and red rumps dancing in a spiral eating orange mangoes, one of their favorite fruits, surrounded by green jungle leaves as light colored suns shine behind their heads. You will notice the intricate geometric designs I have applied to their bodies and wings; it is known as Chiva Art. The geometric artform of Chiva has been applied to the rural transportation Chiva buses of Colombia with pride and love for over 90 years. Repeating designs of overlapping lines, circles, and triangular forms, combined with decorative bright colors are painted on rural buses by the talented artists and artisans of Chiva. I have had a fondness for indigenous fabric and ornamental art since I was a child and am now decorating many of my crafted plants and animals in the same fashion as the artisans of Chiva, Native American, and indigenous cultures. Wander with wonder in nature as you take an eco-trip through my family friendly nature art collection on my website phelpsmandala.com where you will share in a joyful celebration of biodiversity in all that nature provides.
